The short version
scoring.golf is a software service that helps you run golf outings, tournaments, and trips. We give you a tool; you run your event. Use it for golf, treat your players with respect, don't break the law with it, and we'll keep the lights on. The longer version follows.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using scoring.golf in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. What scoring.golf is
scoring.golf (the “Service”) is a web-based platform for organizing and scoring golf events — outings, buddy trips, club tournaments, and similar. The Service includes the marketing site at scoring.golf, the admin tools at /admin, the player scoring interface at /p, and the clubhouse TV view at /tv. Features change over time.
3. Your account
You sign in using a magic-link email. You are responsible for keeping the email account secure. If someone else gets access to your email, they can sign into your scoring.golf account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're creating an account on behalf of an organization (a club, a foundation, a corporate outing sponsor), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to do anything illegal, harmful, or abusive. Specifically, don't:
- Upload content you don't have the right to share
- Harass, threaten, or expose private information about other users
- Run gambling operations through the platform without complying with applicable laws
- Probe, scan, or attempt to disrupt the service
- Resell or rebrand the service without written permission
- Use the service in a way that interferes with other admins' events
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate this section. In serious cases (e.g. abuse of other users, attempts to compromise the service) we may do so without notice.
5. Player data
When you (an admin) add players to an event, you give us their names and optionally their email, phone number, and handicap. You represent that you have the players' permission to share that information with us for the purpose of running the event.
We process player data on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.
6. Beta status
scoring.golf is currently in beta. That means:
- Features may change, break, or disappear without notice
- We don't promise any uptime or availability SLA
- Your data may occasionally be wrong, delayed, or temporarily unavailable
If you're running a high-stakes event where wrong scoring would be a serious problem (large-prize tournaments, professional events, anything that affects official handicaps), use scoring.golf at your own risk and keep a paper backup of the scorecards.
7. Pricing and payment
scoring.golf is free during the beta period. After beta, we expect to charge a small per-event fee or an optional monthly subscription for repeat organizers. We will give beta users notice before any pricing change takes effect on their account.
We don't charge your players — they always score for free. Only event organizers may be charged after beta.
8. Termination
You can stop using scoring.golf at any time. Contact support@scoring.golf to request account deletion; we will delete your account and the events you created within 30 days.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we decide to discontinue the service. In the case of discontinuation, we'll give reasonable notice and provide a way to export your event data.
9. Intellectual property
We own the software, brand, and design of scoring.golf. You retain ownership of the event data and roster you put into the platform. We get a limited license to host, process, and display that data so the service can work (for example, sharing your leaderboard with the players you invited).
10. No warranty
scoring.golf is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the scoring math is correct in every edge case. We try hard to make it work; we can't promise it always will.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, scoring.golf and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service — including lost scores, missed tournaments, lost wagers, or lost prizes.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. (During beta, that's $50.)
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Ohio, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are material (we're adding payment terms, changing how we use your data, etc.) we will email account admins or post a banner before the changes take effect.
