Bingo Bango Bongo
Three independent points per hole: Bingo (first ball on the green), Bango (closest to the pin once everyone is on), Bongo (first to hole out). High-handicap players can absolutely win this — independent of total strokes.

How it works
The mechanics, hole by hole.
- 1Three independent points awarded per hole.
- 2Bingo: first ball on the green.
- 3Bango: closest to the pin once all balls are on.
- 4Bongo: first ball into the hole.
- 5Honors etiquette matters — the high handicapper might lay up smartly and earn the Bingo by being shortest off the tee but first on.
When to play it
Best fit.
The most handicap-friendly side game in golf — a 25-handicap can win this against scratch players because it's independent of total strokes. Perfect for a corporate day or member-guest where you want everyone to feel they can win something. Requires the group to honor proper order of play.
Worked example
3 holes, with the math shown.
| Hole | Bingo (first on) | Bango (closest) | Bongo (first in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Austin (25 HCP) | Mike | Mike |
| 2 | Luke | Luke | Tom |
| 3 | Austin | Mike | Austin |
| 3-hole points | Austin 2, Luke 1 | Mike 2, Luke 1 | Mike 1, Tom 1, Austin 1 |
Austin (25 HCP) racks up 3 points across the first 3 holes by being first on (hits short, lays up smartly) and first in. Format rewards order-of-play discipline as much as ball-striking.
